More so, it is a modern incarnation of the former state lodge that was previously visited by Idi Amin and its ruins is still existing. Note; Currently the lodge was closed due to extensive flood damage by the Nile River which keeps on flooding. But the lodge is under renovating when it’s done we shall give you the feedback.
Budongo Eco lodge
The Budongo Eco lodge is located in south in the Kaniyo Pabidi forest, there accommodation is available alongside the main road that runs between Masindi and Paraa. These lodge facilities have great access to the forests of Budongo, home to a myriad of birdlife and over 800chimpanzees.
It is located 8 kilometers north of the Kichambonyobo Gate, in the midst of wilderness with rewardable green nature for your comfortable stay.
Originally, Jane Goodall Institute provided a research station which has been renovated in the place to provide a pleasant and comfortable base for forest exploration.
The lodge is intimate with five perfect cabins and four large dormitory rooms for larger groups. It’s on site visitor Centre with very informative about the local area as well as the showcases ancient fossils. It also has a craft shop sells handmade craft material or gift shop to commemorate your stay.
The lodge is located between the Budongo Forest Reserve’s tall mahogany trees in Murchison falls national park. The lodge its self has a perfect environment for exploring the park’s beauty surroundings.

Great location; However, Budongo Eco lodge is perfectly located for some well-earned respite. Activities; While at Budongo Eco Lodge there are many activities you can engage in, through this thick forest such activities are nature walking, chimpanzee tracking or habituation or head out on a game drive across dry open savannah grasslands and even take a boat cruise to the top of the falls or down the Nile River.
Environmental impact: It was built with its natural forest surroundings without creating long lasting damage.
Twiga Safari Lodge
The Twiga safari lodge has a unique option for visitors who are seeking a unique style accommodation. Twiga was neighboring Baker’s lodge before being destroyed up with water.
Twiga Safari lodge provides a contemporary take on tented camp, combining canvas with solid construction.
The lodge offers Mid-range accommodation facility a fusion of safari camping tents and thatched African cottages. There 8 private cottages are situated on the bank of the Nile River in Mubaako Paraa, opposite the Murchison Falls National park.
